Kourion
A clifftop ancient city-kingdom above Episkopi Bay, with a restored Greco-Roman theatre, fine mosaics and one of the most dramatic sea views in Cyprus.

Kourion was one of the island's ancient city-kingdoms, and its ruins spread across a high bluff west of Limassol. The theatre, first built in the Hellenistic period and enlarged by the Romans, looks straight out to sea and still hosts summer performances.
Nearby, the House of Eustolios, the Houses of Achilles and of the Gladiators and an early Christian basilica preserve some of the island's finest floor mosaics.
Good to know
The site is exposed and hot in summer. Bring water and a hat. Allow two hours, and add the Sanctuary of Apollo Hylates a few kilometres further west.
