Panagia Forviotissa, known as Asinou, stands alone in a wooded valley near Nikitari. A dedicatory inscription dates the earliest frescoes to 1105–06, and later painting campaigns added further scenes over the following centuries.
Like the other Painted Churches of the Troodos, it is protected by a steep timber roof. The setting among pines and plane trees makes the visit feel like a small pilgrimage.
