Limassol Marina
Yachts, a promenade, and the modern face of the city. Walk it once. Eat somewhere that is not on the pontoon.

The marina opened in 2014 on reclaimed land west of the old port, and it is the picture Limassol now uses of itself: white hulls, glass apartments, a boardwalk with restaurants along it. It is pleasant. It is also the most expensive two hundred metres on the island, and the restaurants know who they are for.
Walk it anyway. The boardwalk connects to the old port, where the fishing boats still tie up and the harbour-side kafeneia still serve a Cypriot coffee for what it costs everywhere else, and from there to the medieval castle and the lanes of the old town behind it. That walk — marina, old port, castle, old town — is the whole of Limassol's seafront history in forty minutes.
Where to eat instead
Two streets back. Agiou Andreou and the streets off it, between the castle and the Molos park, is where the city eats: wine bars in restored stone houses, a meze place that has been there since before the marina was a drawing. On a Tuesday night there are tables. That is where a membership is worth having.
