Finikoudes takes its name from the rows of palm trees, "finikes", that line the promenade. The sandy beach slopes gently into usually calm water and has been awarded Blue Flag status, which is rare for a city-centre beach.
The promenade runs from the marina past the medieval Larnaca Fort, and it is the place for an evening stroll, open-air events and festivals such as Kataklysmos in early summer.
Good to know
It is organised with lifeguards and sunbeds in season. Early mornings are the quietest time to swim.
