Lara Beach
A wild, unspoilt bay on the west coast of the Akamas and one of the Mediterranean's key nesting beaches for green and loggerhead turtles.

Lara is a pair of sandy bays with no buildings in sight, only dunes, juniper and open sea. Since the late 1970s the Department of Fisheries has run a turtle conservation programme here, protecting the nests that female turtles dig each summer.
The beach is part of a protected area, so rules apply in nesting season: no sunbeds, no umbrellas pushed into the sand, no vehicles on the beach and no visits at night.
Good to know
There are no facilities at all. Bring water and shade, and respect any marked nests.
