Prophet Elias Church
A small stone church perched on a rocky hilltop above Protaras, reached by a flight of steps and rewarded with sweeping views over the coast.

The church of Prophet Elias stands on a lone rock outcrop on the edge of Protaras. A stairway of roughly 150 steps winds up to the courtyard, which looks out over hotels, beaches and the sea towards Cape Greco and, on clear days, Famagusta.
It is an active Orthodox church, and the hilltop is especially atmospheric when it is lit up at night.

The climb is short but steep. Wear modest clothing if you go inside the church.
