Limassol Castle (Cyprus Medieval Museum)
A stout medieval castle in Limassol's old town that now houses the Cyprus Medieval Museum, steps from the old port.

Tradition holds that Richard the Lionheart married Berengaria of Navarre in an earlier building on this site in 1191. The present castle took shape in the 14th century and was later remodelled by the Ottomans.
The museum inside displays tombstones, armour, coins, ceramics and religious objects from the early Christian to the Ottoman period. The rooftop gives a good view over the old town's rooftops and minarets.

Allow about an hour. The streets around the castle are full of cafés and craft shops for an easy wander afterwards.
